Harry McElroy Memorial Page

Harry McElroy was the first member of the AFA, an influential falconer, and among the earliest practitioners of falconry in the USA. He worked to ensure falconry was a legal sport. Falconry in Arizona would not be the same as it is today without Harry McElroy.

This page will feature memories, photos, and articles featuring Harry, and we would like to invite people to share their own memories/photos.

Articles from the AFA's old newsletter, Unicinctus, about Harry's experience with falconry in the 60's and the development of the sport from then on.

The AFA is working with the Archives of Falconry and the falconry community to raise funds to ensure Harry McElroy's legacy and considerable contributions to our sport are remembered through virtual and physical exhibits at the Archives. Please consider making a donation in Harry's memory.
